SinArts Gallery

Set up in 2016 by sinologist Alex Lebbink, SinArts Gallery has more than ten years of experience working in and with the Chinese art world. SinArts has organically grown from an online space and community to a physical space for presenting art and sharing knowledge about Chinese art.

SinArts Gallery aims to represent a fresh view on contemporary art from the far east, and especially China. An art world often still bound by clichés and uncertainties, with an art history dominated by a singular discourse, trapped in the commercial success of a recent past. SinArts represents a group of artists based on their artistic merit and ability to speak a universal language, with their Chinese heritage as a common ground.

Stroom Den Haag (an independent foundation founded in 1990) is an art center with a wide range of activities. Starting from the visual arts, architecture, urban planning and design the program focuses on the urban environment. Stroom’s policy is not committed to any particular movement. The centre is open to everyone with stimulating ideas or a need for information regarding art and the urban environment. It aims at being a hospitable and stimulating platform. Starting from this mentality Stroom, in collaboration with other institutions, wants to contribute to the permanent development of the reflection on the city and the part that can be played by the visual arts in this context.

Parts Project

Collectors look at a lot of art – and they view it with keen eyes. They make unforced, often idiosyncratic choices. PARTS bases its programming on those individualistic choices and takes collectors’ discoveries, opinions and experiences as the jumping-off points for all its exhibitions. PARTS is a private initiative. Through its programming, it seeks not only to broaden the Dutch art field but also motivate collectors to share their works and their passion.

Galerie Ramakers

Galerie Ramakers (founded in 1994) is located at the heart of the gallery district in The Hague opposite the Dutch Royal Gardens. Catalijn Ramakers, founder of the gallery wanted to create an exhibition space to express her highly personal taste in art: a mixture of minimalist art, intertwined with a fascination for contemporary surreal trends has been the hallmark of her exhibitions. Some of her artists express an ongoing love for nature, which results in a mere representation of natural elements. The artists represented by the gallery have a certain subtlety in their visual language in common. Besides traditional media such as painting, sculpture and drawing, you will also find new media art, site specific works and installations in the gallery.

Accessibility: Accessible for all types of wheelchairs, and no adapted toilet available at this location.

Galerie Maurits van de Laar

The gallery, established in 1991, focuses on art in which the personal involvement and engagement of the artist emerges. There is an emphasis on drawings because ideas are first formed here, the informality and directness of the medium make that the artist gives himself away most in drawing. Painting shown in the gallery is mostly figurative, here too the personal is important besides individual character or recalcitrance. Three dimensional work has an outspoken personal form language or experiments with new ways of inhabiting spaces and exploring natural processes. In addition there is the awareness, that a gallery should be a stage for experiment also. At least once a year an artist realizes an installation or a project in the gallery.
